I love the mountains! I grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia & never grew tired of seeing their vast beauty in any season of the year. Of course, living in the mountains meant traveling through twists, turns, valleys, hills and some interesting weather conditions.I remember on our 25 mile journey to high school (one way) each day, there were only two "straight stretches" on Route 42...where cars could actually pass, if both lanes were clear. Driving the other direction to Blacksburg to shop was a bit easier. Yet driving on 460 (a four-lane road to VT territory!) meant crossing two mountains, some sharp turns....and an occasional deer along the way. So we spent the majority of our time traveling more curves than straight roads as well as more mountains and valleys than level terrain. But it was worth it....and that was the anticipated journey when living there. We didn't expect it to be different and enjoyed the view along the way.As I drove around the area, I often imagined those mountains as God's arms surrounding me everywhere I went. What a majestic reminder of His love, creation, protection and provision. Life's journey is very much like that. It won't always be easy. There will be twists and turns, mountains and valleys, obstacles and risks. But I choose to believe that He is surrounding us with His loving arms & the journey is well worth the incredible view! Lead me on, Dear God! I love this journey with You!♥~thl |
As God continues to write my story, I enjoy writing from my heart. May each moment He gives me be a moment to honor Him, share Him, praise Him and love Him more fully as I cling to Him and the promise of Proverbs 3: 5>6. ♥~thl
