Memories...

I love memories! There are so many memories near and dear to my heart. I have some wonderful childhood memories, some great high school memories, awesome college memories and of course, precious memories since I married and became a mom.

Some memories I hold even closer now because loved ones have gone Home. Some memories were tough life lessons. Others were life-changing in their own unique way. Some are quite vivid. Some are a bit unclear. But each memory is a part of my life-journey....part of what shaped me into who I am now.

But one thing is for certain....memories are simply that...memories. Whether they are positive or negative, encouraging or embarassing, simple or complicated...they are memories. They are a part of us...and they cannot be changed. Of course, how we view them can make a huge difference. We can choose to allow them to teach us or torment us...change us or cripple us...inspire us or haunt us....bless us or burden us. Some are painful...some are precious. Some are lonely...some are loving. Some are regretful....some are refreshing. Some I wish I could forget. Some I never want to forget.

But all of them taught me, touched me, influenced me or inspired me. I can't live in the past but I can learn from it. I thank God for molding me through the memories, pursuing me in the present and unfolding His plan in my future. I will trust Him with each memory from yesterday, today and tomorrow.♥~thl
