While I work...

As I prepared last night's meal, I did what I usually do before getting out all the pots, pans and dishes.  I turned on the music.  It wasn't contemporary Christian music this time nor was it country, rock or oldies music.  It was my favorite...classical music.

While Micah watched sports in the next room, he never complained.  He didn't ask me to turn it down since it was not exactly a quiet volume.  I saw a slight grin on his face when he walked into the kitchen.  That may have had something to do with me "slightly" singing along in pure classical fashion.  :)  My family knows me all too well.  When I work, I enjoy music...playing, singing, dancing, even "air-directing" or "air violin" or "air piano"...and yes, even "air drums."  It just makes life more enjoyable...positive...therapeutic...purposeful.  There's just something about music that makes life more...complete.

I began thinking.  What if everything we do is accompanied by offering gratitude to God?  Whether doing laundry, cleaning house, sitting in traffic, grocery shopping, working on the job, brushing our teeth, taking a shower...or working outside...we can thank Him, praise Him and do our very best for Him.  Somehow, I believe doing everything with an attitude of gratitude and praise will make life more...complete...and definitely God-honoring.<3~thl

"O my Strength, I sing praise to You; You, O God, are my fortress, my loving God."   Psalm 59:17
