Overwhelmed but not alone...

Life is overwhelming.  There are family needs, housework, shopping, studies, correspondence, husband, children, parents, friends, jobs, appointments, phone calls, etc..  Everywhere I look, there's a project to begin, continue or complete.

Sometimes I feel more behind at the end of the day than I was at the beginning.  For a driven person, that seems totally unacceptable...and continually frustrating.

I often wonder if people who have relatives nearby to help with children and life, itself, realize how very blessed they are.  Since our marriage began, Tim and I never had relatives live in the same community, county, city or state where we reside. It has not been easy.  Yet we learned to make it work.  We learned that except for a few close friends, we are "all we have."  And yet...we have so much more.

I once heard that Ruth Bell Graham, late wife of  Billy Graham, used to run into her bedroom when she felt overwhelmed by parenting, family needs and life while her husband was away.  She fell to her knees and called out to God to help her.  He always did.

What a difference it makes when we realize He is with us.  What a blessing it is to know that when God is "all we have," He will see us through.  It may not be easy.  But I cling to the truth, love and hope He continually shares.  I pray that in the overwhelming days, circumstances and journey we face, we will learn to call on Him...and thank Him for never leaving us alone.<3~thl

"Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.  I say to myself, 'The Lord is my portion:  therefore I will wait for Him.'"  Lamentaions 3: 22>24
